Jamie Lopez, the star of WE TV’s Super Sized Salon and creator of Babydoll Beauty Couture, died at the age of 37.
On Monday (19 December), her death was also posted on the official Babydoll Beauty Couture Instagram page by her co-workers.
A post on the beauty salon’s Instagram account said, “We have suffered an extraordinary loss and appreciate the time and space to grieve in peace.”
What Is Jamie Lopez’s Cause Of Death?
A cause of death was not given, but TMZ says that the founder of Babydoll Beauty Couture died of heart problems on the weekend while she was in a hospital in Las Vegas, NV.
In 2017, Lopez established Babydoll Beauty Couture, which calls itself the first salon for plus-size women in the world.
Additionally, In a 2017 interview with Yahoo Beauty, Lopez explained why she started her business.
She said, “I was inspired by the fact that there was nowhere in Vegas where I could get my nails or hair done that could meet my needs as a plus-size woman,” she told the outlet at the time. “I decided it was time to make some changes for the plus-size women of the world.”
On 2022 July 29, the first season of Super Sized Salon came out. It shows how Lopez and her employees try to change traditional ideas of beauty and promote acceptance.
Also, it detailed Lopez’s 400-pound weight loss journey from an 846-pound peak while bedridden. However, The 37-year-old stylist was getting ready to shoot the show’s second season when she died.
