Finch was born in New York City and raised there. She earned a degree in meteorology from the City University of New York. She began her career as a meteorologist at a local New Jersey television station. She joined CBS New York in 2013. Finch soon rose to prominence on the CBS New York weather team. Elise Finch, a meteorologist for CBS New York, was discovered dead on the 18th of July, 2023, in her house in Westchester County, New York. According to the station, no cause of death was disclosed when she died at a local hospital. In a news report, the broadcaster stated:
“It is with profound sadness that we share news of the passing of our beloved Elise Dione Finch Henriques, Elise has been a friend and team member at WCBS for 16 years. She first joined the team in 2007 as our weekend meteorologist and was most recently on the morning news with Mary Calvi and Chris Wragge.”
Elise was an outstanding professional, a model citizen, and an outstanding ambassador of Mount Vernon, New York, where she was born and nurtured. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Georgetown University as well as one of the prestigious President’s Awards.
She joined the CBS New York weather team in April 2007 after working at NBC as a meteorologist for the “Early Today Show,” MSNBC, and NBC Weather Plus. Finch has co-hosted the morning news with other anchors such as Chris Wragge and Mary Calvi in recent years.
