Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright’s latest explosive argument is far from celebratory. During the May 21 episode of The Valley, Brittany reached her breaking point when her now-estranged husband criticized her drinking habits while she was feeling unwell during a cast trip to Big Bear, California.

“How much was she drinking on the boat?” Jax interrogated their friend group as Brittany lay in bed, feeling nauseous. “I’m going to ask one time. Answer the damn question.”

When their costars, Nia Booko, and Jasmine Goode, confirmed that Brittany hadn’t had anything to drink during the outing, Brittany—who announced her separation from Jax in February—furiously confronted the 44-year-old.

“Jax, I can hear you,” the 35-year-old shouted. “Everyone here supports me, and you’re my husband, making me look like a bad person. Do you think I want to be in here feeling sick? Screw you!”

“I’m your wife, and you’re trying to make me look bad in front of everyone?” she continued. “Get lost! Everyone knows I didn’t drink. Was I drunk? No. I had two drinks today.”

The female cast members hurried to comfort a crying Brittany, who lamented, “He does this to me all the time. He always puts me down. How many shots did he have today?”

Even though Brittany insisted her illness wasn’t from drinking, Jax’s anger persisted. “I’ve been dealing with this for eight years,” he shouted at her. “Every time you’re in that bathroom, it’s because you’re hungover. So maybe don’t drink at all. Ever!”

In a confessional, Brittany—who has a 3-year-old son, Cruz, with Jax—hinted that Jax questioning her drinking habits was just one of the many problems in their marriage.

“I feel like Jax is draining me and taking away all my happiness,” she shared. “How much more of this can I take? I’m starting to realize all the little things I’ve put up with for the past nine years.”

The morning after, Jax extended an apology to Brittany, who once again clarified that her sickness had nothing to do with alcohol.

“You consumed far more than I did, and then you painted me as the one with the drinking problem,” she confronted him. “Here I am, feeling physically unwell, and you’re berating me while I’m already at my lowest. It was incredibly embarrassing. I simply crave a modicum of support from you.”
