Six persons were killed in a single-car crash described by Lincoln Police as the deadliest in the city’s recent history.

Around 2 a.m., it happened in a residential area around 56th and Randolph.

Police responded to a 911 call from an automatic iPhone emergency response that indicated the phone’s owner was in a serious accident and was not replying to their phone.

When cops arrived, they discovered the crashed vehicle, which had been going eastbound. According to police, the vehicle struck a tree in a yard on Randolph Street.

Five men in their twenties were discovered in the car and proclaimed deceased at the site. The five males were the driver, a 26-year-old, a 23-year-old, two 22-year-olds, and a 21-year-old.

A 24-year-old woman, the crash’s sixth casualty, was brought to the hospital and later confirmed dead.

The identity of the six victims has not been revealed pending communication of family members.
