The Japanese light novel series called Bibliophile Princess was created by Yui and Satsuki Shiina. On the user-generated novel publication website Shsetsuka ni Nar, it was serialized online between September 2015 and January 2022. Later, Ichijinsha bought it, and since July 2016 their Iris NEO label has published six volumes under its ownership.
Since August 2018, Ichijinsha’s shjo manga publication Monthly Comic Zero Sum has been serializing a manga adaptation with artwork by Yui Kikuta. Six tank-bon volumes have been used to collect it. J-Novel Club holds the North American rights to light novels and manga. Madhouse will release its adaptation of an anime television series in October 2022.

Madhouse has confirmed October 2022 as the release date for Bibliophile Princess Season 1.
For the television anime adaptation of Yui and Satsuki Shiina’s Bibliophile Princess (Mushikaburi-hime) light novel series, Kadokawa debuted a brand-new teaser promotional video, teaser visual, key cast members, and the October release date.

About Bibliophile Princess Season 1
In the anime, Lady Elianna will be portrayed by Reina Ueda, and Prince Christopher by Ryohei Kimura.
The anime at Madhouse is being directed by Tarou Iwasaki (Ryoko’s Case File, One Week Friends, Sweetness & Lightning). The series scripts are written by Mitsutaka Hirota (Sweetness & Lightning, Anime-Gataris, Rent-A-Girlfriend). The characters are created by Mizuka Takahashi (sub-character design for Overlord III).
Both the light novel book and its manga adaptation have been licensed by J-Novel Club, and they are being made available in English. J-Novel Club summarises the plot as follows:
Lady Elianna, a lover of books, knows the recent rumors must be genuine when she sees Prince Christopher, she nominally betrothed, mingling with another noblewoman. The engagement of the prince’s true love is about to be dissolved, which is both unavoidable and imminent. She is unaware that this is only a surface ripple in a far larger scheme that goes far beyond her wildest dreams—one of many!
Since September 2015, Yui has been publishing the story in serial form on the Let’s Be Novelists website. In July 2016, Ichijinsha released the first volume of the story’s print edition with pictures created by Satsuki Shiina. On February 2, Ichijinsha released the sixth novel volume. The fifth book was published in English by J-Novel Club in March 2021.
In August 2018, Yui Kikuta debuted the manga adaption in Ichijnsha’s Monthly Comic Zero-Sum publication. On February 28, Ichijinsha released the manga’s sixth volume. The fifth volume was released in English on March 2 by J-Novel Club.
