“The Witcher” will have a 3rd season that’s been sure for a long time. Showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich chats in an interview about the implementation of the novels and plans for new episodes.
“The Witcher” has already been extended by a third season by Netflix before the first season was even released in December 2019. The streaming provider was aware that he was holding a real gem in his hands with the epic adventures of the witcher. Showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich recently delivered the fan-acclaimed sequel to the series with Season 2 of “The Witcher.”
But after the new episodes are before the new episodes: It can always be a little more. It was planned to implement the novels by author Andrzej Sapkowski in seven seasons. However, having an early concept doesn’t mean it must be adhered to. Things are changing, and you may find new promising avenues that you haven’t considered while working on the series.
According to Collider’s online magazine, each season should cover a novel of pentalogy or the short story collection. But plans change.
“I also think that I am in no rush to finish these stories. We do about one book per season, but we also make sure that the stories from the book fit best into the season of our television series. So sometimes, we move our chess pieces a little. For example, there’s a big story from ‘Legacy of the Elves’ that we will bring in Season 3. Or there was a short story that we couldn’t fit into season 1, so we put it into season 2.”
Lauren Schmidt Hissrich said in an interview with Collider.
So what exactly you can look forward to in season 3 or what there could be more seasons of “The Witcher” is, of course, not yet revealed by Hissrich. You are currently watching the episodes of season 2 on Netflix. Season 3 could not be so long in coming this time.
Who Is Emhyr In Season 2?
In Season 2 of The Witcher, we saw the face of the Emperor of Nilfgaard. We have already seen Emhyr in Season 1, but his face was completely different that time as he was an enchanted ‘hedgehog man.’
The character first appeared in Season 1, Episode 4. In the finale of Season 2, Emhye reveals the real relationship between Ciri to Fringilla and Cahir. As of now that we know that Ciri’s veins have elder blood flowing in them. This is the reason why Emhye wants to marry Ciri, his daughter.
