Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra Release Date, Review, One UI 4.1, Specs, Price and More

At your risk, ignore the Samsung Galaxy S22. True, the entry-level phone in Samsung’s new flagship series misses the luxury features of the Galaxy S22 Ultra and the bigger screen of the Galaxy S22 Plus, but there’s a risk in focusing on what the S22 lacks.

A better approach to analyze the Galaxy S22 is in terms of the value it provides. If you choose this model, you’ll get the same Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 CPU that powers Samsung’s more flashy S22 models. A brilliant display and the same great camera setup as the S22 Plus are also expected. All of this comes in a package that starts at less than $800, which is $200 less than the following model in Samsung’s portfolio.

The Galaxy S22 isn’t for everyone, especially those who demand every premium feature crammed into a phone. However, our Samsung Galaxy S22 review discovers a phone with enough high-end features to stand out as one of the greatest Samsung phones, particularly at this price. If you’ve been putting off replacing your phone because of the escalating cost of flagship smartphones, the Galaxy S22 will remind you that you don’t have to spend a lot of money to have a high-end phone.

Is Samsung S22 Ultra available in India?

In India, the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra starts at Rs. 1,09,999 for the basic model with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The most expensive option, with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, costs Rs. 1,18,999. The Galaxy S22 Ultra is also available with 128GB and 1TB of storage in other locations, but not in India. The Galaxy S22 Ultra is available in three colours: Phantom Black, Phantom White, and Burgundy. For this review, I had the latter.

Specifications and software for the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra

In India, Samsung has always utilized its in-house Exynos SoCs for the Galaxy S series, but that has changed this time. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC powers the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, which is presently the most powerful SoC available in an Android smartphone. The capacity extension isn’t possible, although the standard storage should be plenty for most users.

The large 6.8-inch AMOLED display has a Quad-HD+ resolution and a max refresh rate of 120Hz. The max brightness of this panel is 1750 nits and it is HDR10+ certified. The lower part has an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. For scratch resistance, Samsung has employed Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ on the front and back of this phone. The Galaxy S22 Ultra supports a variety of wireless communication technologies, including Bluetooth 5.2, Wi-Fi 6, Ultra-wideband (UWB), NFC, 5G, and 4G VoLTE. The SIM tray may hold two physical nano-SIMs or one physical SIM plus an eSIM.

The hardware setup includes a whopping 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The Galaxy S22 Ultra boasts a triple rear camera that has a 12MP main sensor, a 108MP sensor, and a 12MP sensor. The phone’s integrated 5100mAh battery delivers prolonged battery life and allows for quick charging through a USB Type C connection. Other features of the phone include an on-screen fingerprint sensor, face unlocking, and a USB Type C port for audio streaming. Other high-end Samsung phones include the Galaxy S20 FE 5G, Galaxy S21, and Galaxy S10 Lite.

The 6.1-inch Dynamic AMOLED display on the Samsung Galaxy S22 has a pixel density of 422ppi and a 20:9 aspect ratio. The front of the smartphone has a bezel-less punch hole architecture covered by Corning Gorilla Glass. It also boasts a 1080 x 2340 pixel resolution.

“We can separate the technology into five main components,” he stated of the video capturing capabilities of the Samsung Galaxy S22 series and the technology underlying it. From auto frame rate to AI segmentation, support is provided for constant VDIS, 12-bit HDR, and auto framing. We basically change the front frame rate from 60 to 15 depending on the lighting.”

In just 12 hours, the Samsung Galaxy S22 series has received over 70,000 pre-orders

Samsung India stated on Wednesday that it has received over 70,000 pre-orders for its recently introduced flagship Galaxy S22 series in less than 12 hours.

Review of the Samsung Galaxy S22: Design

After experimenting with a polycarbonate back for the Galaxy S21, Samsung has upgraded the materials for the Galaxy S22, with an aluminium ring around the middle and a glass back built of Gorilla Glass Victus Plus. That should improve durability, however, dropping a glass on hard surfaces may be devastating – we recommend obtaining one of the finest Galaxy S22 covers to safeguard your new phone. At the very least, the new materials make the Galaxy S22 feel more sophisticated than the plastic Galaxy S21 FE, which costs $100 less.

The materials are different from last year’s Galaxy S flagship, but the design is the same, right down to the contour cut appearance for the rear camera array, which contains the three vertically stacked lenses on the phone’s back in a hump that blends into the device’s side. The Galaxy S21’s camera array had a different hue from the rest of the phone’s back; Samsung matches colours with the Galaxy S22.

In terms of colours, you have the same options as the Galaxy S22 Plus: Phantom Black, Phantom White, green, and pink gold. When ordering straight from Samsung, you may also select from graphite, cream, sky blue, and violet colours.
