LG C2 OLED TV Release date, Pricing, Specs & Everything We Know So Far

The CES 2022 show has seen some spectacular announcements, including new QD-OLED televisions from Samsung and Sony’s upcoming XR A95K, but the new LG C2 series televisions, which have been dubbed “the best of the best,” have to take the cake.

We’ve compiled everything we know so far about the new series, which is set to follow the C1 series, which is arguably one of the most popular television series for gamers.

Here’s everything we know so far, as well as the reasons why gamers should be extremely excited.

LG C2 OLED TV Release date

According to a recent post on the German website AreaDVD, which lists a number of LG TVs, their European price points, and their availability, the new C2 range is expected to be available from March of this year.

Back in February, a tweet indicated that the LG C2 48-inch model was available for pre-order on John Lewis, with an estimated delivery time of 5 weeks at the time of posting.

According to our estimates at the time, the release date would be around the beginning of March.

While we’ll have to wait for the release in the United States and the United Kingdom, this sounds promising. We expect a high level of demand, so be prepared to act quickly! Let’s take a look at what we can expect from LG’s new product line in this article.

LG C2 Pricing

  • LG OLED42C2 ($1,799) is a 42-inch OLED display.
  • The LG OLED48C2 is priced at $1,949.
  • 2 499 dollars for the LG OLED55C2.
  • LG OLED65C2 ($3,449) is a 65-inch OLED display.
  • $5,799 for the LG OLED77C2.
  • The LG OLED83C2 is priced at $7,999.

According to the most recent announcements from LG Germany, the prices listed above are for the latest LG 2022 OLED TVs. As you can see, the prices do not exactly correspond to the pre-order prices in the United Kingdom, with the C2 42-inch model being approximately 150 Euros less expensive.

According to the most recent updates, John Lewis has set a pre-order price of £1,399 in the United Kingdom. As a result, the C2 is more expensive (year-on-year) than the C1, but this is to be expected given market inflation and improvements made to internal hardware in recent years.

LG C2 OLED TV Specifications

LG C2 Brightness

The LG C2 will be equipped with a ‘OLED evo’ panel, which will provide improved HDR performance as well as brightness that will outperform the C1 range.

Even though the Oled Evo panel made its debut with the LG G1 last year, it’s still unclear whether or not it will be included in every C2 model in the future.

More brightness is always welcome in the world of OLED panels, and it should be able to close the gap between the high peak brightness of Samsung QD-OLED TVs, for example, and the lower peak brightness of LG OLED TVs, for example.

The T3 news network also reported this week that the Dolby Vision technology in LG’s new OLED TVs, including the C2 and G2, will be upgraded to Dolby Vision IQ.

Thus, the new TVs should be able to achieve even higher levels of contrast than the previous models, which should further enhance the already powerful HDR format.

LG C2 Size

What’s perhaps most appealing about this is that we’ll be getting a world’s first in the form of a 42-inch television “a visual display

In particular, those with smaller living spaces or those who would benefit from an OLED screen in their bedroom will find it to be a welcome addition.

Also included are the standard 48″, 55″, 65″, 77″ and 83″ sizes, as well as the colossal 83″ “releasing the size

Those who purchased the C1 48 model will be familiar with the 48-inch size, and it appears that a lower-spec A2 model in the same size will also be available.

It’s an argument a little ‘odd’ in terms of size, but it works well as a large screen in smaller rooms and, in some cases, as a slightly outlandish desktop setup.

This time around, there are a few design tweaks as well…

LG C2 Design

Fortunately, we’ve caught a glimpse of the 42nd “model, which you can see in the gallery below, as well as a look at the 48-inch version. The number 42 is a reference to the number of times the word 42 appears in a sentence “There are some differences between this model and the traditional central stand setup.

I personally prefer the central stand because it takes up less table space when the TV isn’t mounted to the wall, but it’s encouraging to see a design shift in what has otherwise been a fairly similar-looking line of televisions for some time.

This design, according to the manufacturer, makes it more suitable for desktop setups, making this TV a potential competitor against some of the new OLED gaming monitors that were announced at CES 2022 as well.

Should I buy the LG C2 when it releases?

Rather than waiting for the LG C2 range to be released, there are a couple of alternatives to consider.

You could also opt for the LG C1 series, which is still a popular OLED option and offers many of the same gaming-oriented features as the Acer Aspire line, including ALLM, VRR, and ‘true’ HDMI 2.1 support.

In the world of HDMI 2.1 monitors, there are several options for those who are debating whether or not to wait for the 42-inch LG C2. Many are similar in size and offer arguably lower input lag and response times.

There are even rumors that an LG UltraGear 48″ OLED monitor will be released in the near future…
