Lance says he’ll ‘attack’ rehab following ankle surgery for the 49ers originally appeared on NBC Sports Bayarea.

Trey Lance’s path to rehabilitation has finally begun.

The 49ers’ quarterback underwent successful ankle surgery on Monday, just one day after suffering a season-ending injury in the 49ers’ 27-7 victory over the Seattle Seahawks at Levi’s Stadium.

Lance updated his social media profiles shortly after the 49ers’ announcement.

Lance’s upbeat demeanour is encouraging, given that his 2022 season was cut short after only five quarters.

Lance has passed for 797 yards, five touchdowns, and three interceptions in eight career games (four starts), completing 54.9 percent of his passes. This results in an 84.5 passer rating.

Lance has also run 54 times for 235 yards and one touchdown.

With Lance out for the season, the 49ers’ offence will be led by veteran quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo.

The 49ers will play the Denver Broncos at Empower Field at Mile High on Sunday night.
