Tom Brady has announced his retirement from the NFL after 22 seasons, leaving as probably the best player in the sport’s history.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Network said Sunday that Tom Brady is likely to leave the NFL at the end of the 2022 season.

After the 2021 season, Brady thought about retiring for a while, but 40 days later, he decided to come back to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In July, the 45-year-old told reporters that he is taking things “year by year.”

Rapaport said that Brady took an 11-day break from training camp to go on a trip with his family to the Bahamas. This trip had been planned earlier in the year.

“It’s all personal, and everyone has their own problems to deal with,” Brady told reporters when he got back to camp. “Everyone’s life has its own unique problems. I’m 45 years old, man. There’s a lot going on. You just have to try to figure out life as best you can. It’s an ongoing process.”

In the last year of his contract, Brady will make $30 million, which includes a $15 million payment from the signing bonus of his new contract for 2021. He got a roster bonus of $13.88 million when he agreed to a new deal in April, and his base salary will be $1.12 million.

When Brady is done playing football, he will become the lead analyst for Fox Sports. This deal is said to be worth $375 million over 10 years.

Last season, Brady led the NFL in passing yards with 5,316, and he led the Buccaneers in touchdowns with 43. The first game of the season for Tampa Bay is on Sunday Night Football against the Dallas Cowboys.
