Both of the Kansas State Wildcats’ top quarterbacks, Adrian Martinez and Will Howard, got hurt against the TCU Horned Frogs on Saturday night in Fort Worth, Texas. This is not good news for the Wildcats.
The Wildcats are behind 31–28 going into the fourth quarter, and they’ll have to count on their third-string quarterback, Jake Rubley, to win the game for them if they want to win first place in the Big 12 conference.
Martinez was out after just two passes, while Howard was out after a great game in which he completed 10 of 13 passes for 199 yards and led K-State to a 28-17 lead at halftime on the road in Carter Stadium. But when Jake Rubley, their third-string quarterback, came in for one series, he threw an interception on his first throw.
But in the second half, it’s been all Frogs. TCU, led by Max Duggan, has found its groove and is driving again.
