
SPOTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. — A tragic shooting in Spotsylvania County, Virginia, left three people dead and three others hospitalized Tuesday evening, according to local authorities.
Deputies with the Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) responded to reports of gunfire shortly after 5:30 p.m. in a neighborhood located roughly 60 miles south of the nation’s capital. Upon arrival, officers discovered several individuals suffering from gunshot wounds at the scene.
By 7:45 p.m., officials confirmed that three victims had died from their injuries, while three others were transported to nearby medical facilities for treatment. Their current conditions have not been made public.

Authorities have yet to identify or apprehend any suspects involved in the shooting. In a statement, the sheriff’s office emphasized that the investigation remains “active and fluid” and urged residents to steer clear of the affected area as law enforcement continues to work the scene.
Details surrounding the motive for the violence, the identities of the victims, and their ages have not yet been released. The Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center and the SCSO have not provided further updates.
