The BP Husky Toledo Refinery has been closed after two employees died in a fire at the plant on Tuesday.

BP representatives acknowledged that two persons died after being injured in the fire.

“It is with great sadness that we learn that two BP employees who were injured in a fire at the BP Husky Toledo Refinery have died,” refinery authorities said in a statement Wednesday. “Our hearts go out to the families and loved ones of these two people.” All other employees have been accounted for, and our employee assistance team is on the ground in Toledo to assist those who have been affected by this tragedy.”

According to BP Husky, the fire was put out around 10:15 p.m. Tuesday night, and the refinery is still closed on Wednesday.

Crews arrived at the refinery in the 4100 block of Cedar Point Road in Oregon at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday evening for reports of injuries, according to Lucas County Regional Dispatch.

There hasn’t been any word yet on what caused the fire.
