A Toronto Man Is Accused Of Killing His 70-year-old Mother

A man from Toronto has been charged in connection with the death of his mother, who was 70 years old. This is the city’s first murder of the year.

The Toronto police said that at about 8:15 p.m. on Wednesday, they responded to a medical call in the area of Finch Avenue East and Seneca Hill Drive.

First responders found a hurt woman who was having trouble getting medical help, and they tried to save her. But she was said to be dead at the scene.

On Thursday, the Toronto police found out that the woman was Joy Barnwell. They haven’t said what killed the person.

The police said that a man was arrested at the scene. He has been named as Michael Rawlins, who is 27 years old and from Toronto.

Rawlins is being charged with murder in the second degree. On Thursday, he went to court.

Const. Alex Li, a spokesman for the Toronto Police, said, “I want to reassure the public that this is an isolated incident.” He also confirmed that Rawlins is the victim’s son.
