South African actress and model Charlbi Dean, who is best known for appearing in the upcoming movie Triangle of Sadness, has passed away at the age of 32, according to Vulture. According to TMZ, she passed away suddenly from an ailment for which the cause has not yet been determined. Dean started her work at the age of 14, dropped out of high school to pursue homeschooling, and quickly rose to prominence in the developing South African design industry. According to the South African Sunday Times, she represented South Africa at Gavin Rajah’s Paris couture show in 2006, the first South African collection to display in the French capital. She was involved in an automobile accident at the age of 18.

Dean made her acting debut in the 2010 movie Spud at the age of 20, costarring with a young Troye Sivan. Later, in 2013, she returned to the role in Spud 2: The Madness Continues. In nine episodes of the TV show Black Lightning, she also played Syonide.

She plays Yaya, an influencer who is invited on a yacht with her model lover, Carl, in the upcoming Ruben Ostlund movie Triangle of Sadness, which is her greatest part to date (Harris Dickinson).
