The suspect then left the area, police said, and moments later stabbed a second person at a bus stop near 12 Mile Road and Harper Avenue in St. Clair Shores.

As the sun came up on Wednesday, 17 May 2023, police from both Roseville and St. Clair Shores were at both crime scenes. Earlier in the day, WWJ reporters Mike Campbell and Charlie Langton reported live from both places as reports spread that the two cases were related.

The police spent most of the morning going through both spots and taking videos.

Around 11 a.m., the police said that officers from both departments were working together to find the same person who was said to have been involved in both crimes.

“Our department is requesting the assistance of the public in helping to identify this individual and vehicle relating to an ongoing homicide investigation,” Roseville police said in an update to social media.

Authorities say he is a white man who is 6 feet tall, weighs between 160 and 180 pounds, and has short blonde hair. Police said he was wearing what looked like a red jacket and brown pants. He may also carry a 4-inch hunting knife with a black handle and blade.

The suspect’s car is a Chevrolet HHR SUV with a chrome front end and a dark or black color.

“A search is ongoing for the suspect and the stabbing are believed to be random,” police added.
