Fans of “Dahmer,” the creepy drama series on Netflix starring Evan Peters as the notorious killer and cannibal, continue to watch it in record numbers all at once.

“Dahmer — Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story” by Ryan Murphy was the most-watched English-language show on Netflix for the third week in a row, with 205.33 million hours watched during the week of Oct. 3–9. With 701.37 million hours watched in its first 28 days, the limited series is now Netflix’s second most popular English-language show of all time, after “Stranger Things 4,” which was watched for 1.35 billion hours in its first 28 days. In its first four weeks on Netflix, “Dahmer” has been watched more than seasons 1 and 2 of Shonda Rhimes’ “Bridgerton.”

“Squid Game,” a South Korean surprise hit that got watched 1.65 billion hours in its first 28 days on Netflix, is still the TV show with the most hours watched in its first four weeks.

The 10-part series “Monster,” which premiered on September 21, tells the story of Jeffrey Dahmer, a real-life serial killer who killed 17 men and boys in Milwaukee between 1978 and 1991. Most of the episodes are told from the point of view of Dahmer’s victims. According to Netflix’s description of the show, it also looks at “the systemic racism and institutional failures” of the Wisconsin police, which “allowed one of America’s most notorious serial killers to continue his killing spree in plain sight for over a decade.”

“Monster” is a popular show on Netflix, but critics haven’t been kind to it. On Rotten Tomato, the show has a 52% score from critics. Caroline Framke, a TV critic for Variety, said that the limited series was “predictable” and “a grim, sepia-toned slog that rarely justifies its own existence.”

The horror movie “Mr. Harrigan’s Phone,” which was made by Ryan Murphy and came out on Netflix on Oct. 5, debuted at No. 2 on the Top 10 English Films list with 35.42 million hours watched. “Luckiest Girl Alive,” starring Mila Kunis and based on Jessica Knoll’s best-selling book of the same name, was the most-watched movie of the week, with 43.08 million hours watched (and was in the Top 10 in 91 countries).

For the week of Oct. 3–9, 17.41 million hours were spent watching “Blonde,” in which Ana de Armas played Marilyn Monroe (for a total of 54.75 million hours over the two weeks since its Sept. 28 premiere).

“The Jeffrey Dahmer Tapes” (31.4 million hours watched) and “The John Wayne Gacy Tapes” (8.86 million hours watched) both made it into the Top 10 on the English TV chart for the week.

The latest horror show from Mike Flanagan, “The Midnight Club,” which recently broke the Guinness World Record for the most jump scares in a first episode, also made the Top 10 with 18.79 million hours watched.

“The Empress,” a German historical drama about the life of Empress Elisabeth of Austria, stayed at the top of the list of non-English TV shows with 59.43 million hours watched. “High Water,” a Polish drama, made its debut on the Top 10 list at No. 2 with 45.84 million hours watched.

Popular Korean shows on Netflix kept getting people to watch: “Little Women” (23.58 million hours), “Extraordinary Attorney Woo” (12.22 million hours), “Alchemy of Souls” (9.78 million hours), “Young Lady and Gentleman” (8.52 million hours), and “Narco-Saints” were still on the non-English TV Top 10 for the week of Oct. 3–9.
