More than a week after being killed in a shooting at a Houston bowling alley, Migos rapper Takeoff will be laid to rest in his hometown of Atlanta.
The funeral for the slain rapper will be held this Friday at the State Farm Arena in downtown Atlanta. Pastor Jesse Curney III of Lilburn’s New Mercies Christian Church told the outlet that he would deliver the eulogy.
The funeral is said to be at 1 p.m., but it is unclear whether it will be open to the public. When someone from Arena was contacted by The Times on Monday, he refused to say anything about the service.

Officers responded to the shooting shortly after 2:30 a.m., according to the Houston Police Department, and one man was found dead. Two other people were taken to the hospital with nonfatal injuries.
At the party, Takeoff and Quavo, who is also a member of the group Migos, were playing dice when a fight broke out and someone started shooting.
During a press conference last week, Houston Police Chief Troy Finner stated that he believed two firearms were used in the shooting and that the shooter or shooters were in their 20s and present at the party. Finner went on to say that he and his team had no reason to suspect Takeoff of being “involved in anything criminal at the time” of the shooting.
Houston police have made no arrests or identified any suspects.
The Harris County Medical Examiner ruled the rapper’s death a homicide in a preliminary report. According to the report, he died from “penetrating gunshot wounds of the head and torso into the arm.”
Takeoff, his uncle Quavo, and his cousin Offset are all from Atlanta’s Lawrenceville neighborhood. They formed the rap group Migos, whose hits include “stir fry,” “bad and Boujee,” and “walk it talk it.”
Following the news of his death, fellow musicians celebrated Takeoff on social media.
Kid Cudi, Chloe Bailey, Halle Bailey, and Teyana Taylor were among those who paid tribute. Drake also paid tribute to the slain rapper, writing on Instagram about “the best memories of all of us seeing the world together and bringing light to every city we touch.”
The “honestly, Never mind” rapper announced on Monday that he had rescheduled his Friday show at New York City’s Apollo Theater in order to attend Takeoff’s funeral. He will now perform on December 6 and 7 at the historic Harlem venue.
“The Apollo Show Has Been Moved To All Of Us This Weekend To Pay Respect To Our Dear Friend,” he wrote on his Instagram Story.
