Lisa Marie Presley, the only child of rock-and-roll legend Elvis, has died at age 54, her mother has said.
Priscilla Presley said, “It is with a heavy heart that I must tell you the terrible news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has died.”
On Thursday morning, singer Lisa Marie was rushed to the hospital. The media say that she had a heart attack.
Sources told us that she was found unresponsive at her home in Calabasas, California.
Priscilla Presley said in a statement, “She was the most passionate, strong, and loving woman I have ever known.”
“We’d like to be left alone while we try to deal with this terrible loss.”
Her mother didn’t say anything about what might have killed her.
Tmz said that a person close to Lisa Marie Presley told them that the star was found unresponsive in her bedroom on Thursday morning. About the same time, her ex-husband, Danny Keough, who also lives on the property, came and did CPR.
The outlet said that she had a “full arrest” before a bystander gave her adrenaline, also called epinephrine. This helped her get her pulse back.
Soon after, paramedics came and took Presley to the hospital.
As soon as the news came out that the star had died, tributes started coming in from all over the country.
Diane Warren, who has won a Grammy, said that the “horrible news” made her sad. The singer also said, “Right now, everyone loves and prays for Priscilla and Lisa Marie’s kids.”
Brian Wilson, one of the people who started the Beach Boys, said, “It’s hard to take when someone so young and full of life dies.”
Oscar-winning actress Marlee Matlin wrote on Twitter, “I got to know Cilla Presley when I was on Dancing with the Stars.” “As a mother, I can’t imagine how sad she must be about Lisa Marie’s untimely death.”
Lisa Marie was born in 1968, and like her father, she went on to make a career in music. The star has put out three albums. Her first studio album, which came out in 2003, sold hundreds of thousands of copies and got mostly good reviews.
The star was also well-known for her high-profile marriages to pop legend Michael Jackson, actor Nicholas Cage, and musicians Danny Keough and Michael Lockwood.
She had four kids, and Riley Keough is one of them. Benjamin Keough, who was Elvis’s son, killed himself in 2020.
Presley was last seen in public on Tuesday night in Beverly Hills at the Golden Globes Awards.
With her mother by her side, she and her mother were seen crying as they watched Austin Butler win the best actor award for his role as her father.
During an emotional speech, the actor thanked the Presley family for helping with the movie.
“Thank you for letting me into your hearts, memories, and homes,” Butler said. “Lisa Marie, Priscilla, I Love You Forever.”
