The first all-male “Strictly Come Dancing” couple, diver Tom Daley, and singer-actress Lady Gaga were among the winners of the 2022 British LGBT Awards.

Edward Enninful, the director of Vogue, and Alicia Keys, a musician, both received awards at the London ceremony on Friday, according to aceshowbiz.com.

The awards programme, which is hosted by comedian Sue Perkins, is the largest LGBT+ awards ceremony in the UK. “I am extremely thrilled to be part of the 2022 LGBT Awards, especially as the UK celebrates 50 years of pride,” Enninful, 50, said after receiving the “Global Media Trailblazer” award.

“As a young, black gay guy growing up in West London, I could only have dreamed of the day when celebrations like this would honour individuals like me and the other amazing trailblazers honoured tonight.

I sincerely hope that everyone would keep working to bring about constructive change for the coming generation.

“On a personal basis, I’m honoured to accept this award tonight,” Keys stated through a video link after receiving the “Celebrity Ally of the Year” honour. Since I was a little child, I have had the good fortune to meet people of many backgrounds, exposing me to the splendour and depth of diversity. That includes people of various races, creeds, fashions, beliefs, and loves.

The 41-year-old hitmaker stated, “Believe me, I know that hate is taught and judgement is taught, but we are the light and we are the love.

“I sometimes find it hard to comprehend how much hatred still needs to be dispelled, but hate and darkness are incompatible with light and love.”

After speaking out against anti-LGBT+ laws, Daley, 28, received the Swinton Insurance Sports Personality of the Year award.

After the former athlete broke a 34-year quiet to come out as homosexual in mid-June, Olympian Dame Kelly Holmes was a surprise presenter on the night for the “Celebrity Award” presentation. According to aceshowbiz.com, Gaga received the award.

After being the first male same-s*x pair to compete on “Strictly Come Dancing,” 35-year-old Johannes Radebe and 33-year-old John Whaite received the “Media Moment of the Year” award from the show’s judge Shirley Ballas.
