Oklahoma City Mayor David Holt wrote on Facebook, “It’s devastating to hear that Kenny Blair passed away on Saturday. Coach, teacher, NFL player, and best known to millions as Santa Blair.”
Blair became famous all over the country after playing for the Philadelphia Eagles in the 1980s. He then went on to play for the St. Louis Cardinals. He was hired as a coach at Northwest Classen, Southeast High School, Frederick A. Douglass High School, and other schools in Oklahoma City.
Blair went on the TV show The View twice in December. He was known to go around the country making people happy, both adults and kids.

In his role as a mentor, longtime coach, and beloved Santa Blair, he brought us joy and left an indelible mark on the lives of many as well as the Oklahoma City community. Our thoughts are with the Blair family and his Douglass High School colleagues and students.”
The Black Chronicle Newspaper shared the news on its social media, which also said that he had died. In Oklahoma City, Blair was a well-known figure. He passed away at 65 years old.
