When police searched Jeffrey Dahmer‘s apartment in Milwaukee on July 22, 1991, they found 72 Polaroid photos he had taken of some of his victims. The bodies have been cut up and put in different poses and stages of death for the images.

On July 22, 1991, around 11:30 p.m., police officers Rolf Mueller and Robert Rauth saw a young black man running quickly near the corner of Kilbourn Avenue and North 25th Street.

Tracy Edwards used karate to escape from Jeffrey Dahmer while handcuffed.

The individual was quickly identified as Tracy Edwards, a 32-year-old black male from Tupelo, Mississippi, who was wearing handcuffs on his left wrist. Edwards informed the police that he used karate to defend himself from the “freak” who attempted to kill him.

Tracy Edwards was on the verge of being Jeffrey Dahmer’s 18th victim.

The two police officers who noticed Tracy Edwards returned the victim to Jeffrey Dahmer’s residence to get the handcuff key. The key to their handcuffs did not fit.

Apartment 213 was where Jeffrey Dahmer lived. It has since been torn down.

Dahmer, who was 31 years old, was met by two police officers at his home at 924 North 25th Street, Number 213.

According to The “Shrine of Jeffrey Dahmer”, a book written by Brian Masters, The living room was small, but it had a large, comfortable armchair, a healthy potted plant on a tall pedestal, an oriental rug, blue curtains at the window, some nice pictures on the wall, and one framed picture of a naked male model. There was nothing shady or dirty about the room. In fact, it looked surprisingly clean and well-kept for the area.

Apartment 213 was Jeffrey Dahmer’s bachelor apartment. Look at the naked men on the wall, the fish tank with strange fish, and the security cameras on the walls.

The 31-year-old single man was religious or at least interested in religion because his room was full of audio tapes about the Bible, numerology, the Devine Triangle, learning Latin, and the Genesis Flood.

There were also Cocktales, Chippendale’s Tall, Dark, and Handsome, Rock Hard, Hard Men 2, Hard Men 3, Peep Show, and Tropical Heat Wave VHS tapes lying around.

Dahmer told the police that the key to his handcuffs was in his bedroom. One officer had a bad feeling about this, so he followed Dahmer. Under the killer’s bed was a bloody knife, and photos of naked men were in the open chest drawer.

When the police looked through the Polaroids, they were shocked to see pictures of severed heads, missing limbs, and torsos that were starting to rot.

Detectives and forensic scientists found horrifying clues, like a drum full of rotting body parts. Later, Dahmer said that he had killed 17 people. Dahmer’s 60-hour confession and the photos he took as mementos were the only proof of what happened to several of his victims, including his first.

Jeffrey Dahmer said this to the police: “Let’s put it this way: it’s a nightmare,’ he said. “It’s been a nightmare for a long time, even before I was caught. For years now, it’s clear that my mind has been full of horrible, gruesome ideas and thoughts. It’s been a nightmare.”

The police also found a box of Polaroids in Dahmer’s apartment that showed pictures of the crimes he was known for. They found the headless head of a human in his refrigerator. Police took Dahmer into custody right away and started searching his apartment.
