Gavin Escobar died in a rock climbing accident near Southern California’s Tahquitz Peak Fire Lookout. The Dallas Cowboys are in mourning over the death of a former teammate.

According to authorities, two rock climbers were injured on Wednesday at Tahquitz Rock in Idyllwild. They claim that when they arrived on the scene, they discovered that both victims had already died. Chelsea Walsh, a 33-year-old hiker, and one of the hikers, Gavin Escobar, did not immediately reveal the precise causes of death. Authorities stated that they were investigating everything.

Gavin Escobar was a standout player for San Diego State from 2010 to 2013, before being drafted by the Cowboys in the NFL Draft. Gavin Escobar remained with Dallas for four more seasons, scoring eight touchdowns.
