Jared Kushner talked about the beginning of his relationship with Ivanka in an excerpt from his upcoming book, “Breaking History: A White House Memoir,” which also included a conversation he had with Donald Trump in which Tom Brady’s name was mentioned.
The excerpt, which Forward was able to receive, describes a time when Kushner and Ivanka Trump’s relationship was beginning to take off. Ivanka and I were becoming more serious, and she was in the process of converting, I could feel my voice trembling as I tried to say, wrote Kushner. Let me ask you a question then, Trump said. “Why must she become a Christian? How come you can’t convert? Ivanka wants to switch religions on her own, Kushner added, and Trump responded, “That’s terrific. I’m not Jewish, yet most people think I am. My friends are mostly Jewish. I’ve received numerous accolades from the synagogues. I adored Israel.
Following that conversation, Trump made a veiled remark about Tom Brady and Ivanka. Trump seems to have had a genuine desire for Brady and Ivanka to date over the years, despite the fact that they have made it clear that there was no romantic engagement between them.
In a 2004 interview with Howard Stern, Trump said, “Tom Brady, the quarterback, is someone that really likes Ivanka and he’s a fantastic man. I got to know him at the Miss Universe event.” If Brady and Ivanka were dating, Trump responded, “Well, it could happen. He would like to, so we’ll see.
A report from The New York Times claims that years later when Trump was in the White House, he continued to bring up Tom Brady in conversation.
