Who was Devon Wylie?
Devon Wylie was a skilled American football player who was born on September 2, 1988, in Sacramento, California. During his three seasons in the National Football League (NFL), he rose to prominence as a wide receiver. Wylie began his collegiate football career at Fresno State, where he was an All-American punt returner in 2011.
Wylie was picked in the fourth round of the 2012 NFL Draft by the Kansas City Chiefs. Despite making the Chiefs’ final roster, he only appeared in six games during the regular season, catching six passes for 53 yards.
Following his release by the Chiefs in 2013, he signed with the Tennessee Titans. He caught one pass for 13 yards during his brief stint with the Titans in 2013. Prior to the start of the 2014 season, he was, however, released by both the Tennessee Titans and the New England Patriots.
Wylie’s roots in Sacramento go back to Jesuit High School, where he excelled in both football and track & field. In track and field, he was a two-time All-American, setting a school record in the long jump.

Wylie’s Football and Music Career
Wylie was born on September 2, 1988, in Sacramento, California. He attended Fresno State University and was a standout wide receiver and kick returner.
The Kansas City Chiefs selected him in the fourth round of the 2012 NFL Draft. During his brief professional career, he also played for the Tennessee Titans, Seattle Seahawks, San Francisco 49ers, St. Louis Rams, Oakland Raiders, Atlanta Falcons, and Toronto Argonauts.
He quit football in 2017 and followed a music career as Dev Wylie. He released numerous tracks and an EP titled “The Journey” in 2021.
