Brad Pitt Wasn’t Arrested By The Fbi, So Angelina Jolie Filed An Anonymous Lawsuit Demanding To Know Why (Report)

The FBI “prepared a statement of probable cause” but declined to press charges after meeting with an assistant US attorney

According to Puck News, Angelina Jolie has been identified as the Jane Doe behind an anonymous Freedom of Information Act lawsuit that asks the FBI to disclose information regarding why they didn’t detain Brad Pitt after he allegedly “physically and verbally assaulted” her and their children while traveling on a private plane “several years ago.” After conducting an investigation, the FBI decided against filing charges.

This past April, a brief article in Politico Playbook first mentioned the FOIA request. According to the article, Jane Doe hired a particularly well-known and expensive lawyer, and some of the charges from the FOIA corresponded with remarks Angelina Jolie had made about her ex-husband Brad Pitt, with whom she filed for divorce in 2016.

Jolie filed the complaint, according to Puck News, who also revealed that she did so to find out why Pitt wasn’t detained. One week ago on August 9th, Jolie revised the lawsuit with fresh facts she learned from a FOIA last year. An assistant US attorney in Los Angeles received the investigating agent’s “statement of probable cause” in September 2016. But after speaking with that lawyer, the FBI decides against filing a complaint. Jolie is now curious as to why.

She alleged that Pitt “assaulted physically and verbally” her and their kids. Pitt allegedly grabbed her by the shoulders and led her to the back of the car, yelling, “You’re fucking up this family! ”

Jolie stated she was hurt in a violent altercation on the same trip, and she offered photographic proof of her elbow as proof. She also claimed that Pitt accidentally spilled his beer on her.

Documents pertaining to that discussion between the assistant US attorney and the FBI are now being sought in Jolie’s new lawsuit. She claims the FBI still has “unredacted records and corroborating proof,” which she is demanding.

Pitt and Jolie’s divorce is still contentious six years after they separated. Pitt filed a lawsuit against Jolie earlier this year for ceding her ownership interest in their winery to a Russian tycoon.
