Guess what happened at a Florida Air Force Base? An alligator was found strolling around on the runway! Can you imagine that? But what happened next? Let’s find out the exciting details about the whole incident!
Alligator Captured On Runway At Florida Air Force Base
This week, an alligator parked itself on the tarmac of the Sunshine State’s MacDill Air Force Base. It obstructed traffic until Florida wildlife law enforcement arrived, wrestled it out, and removed it. But not without the scaly beast putting up a fight.
Images of the giant alligator relaxing beneath a massive plane in between its tires were shared on MacDill AFB’s Facebook page on Monday morning.
Northeast of the seaside city of St. Petersburg is where the base is located—in South Tampa. When compared to the massive wheels of the airplane, the gator doesn’t initially seem that big.
However, when officers from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission arrived, video footage revealed the massive alligator emerging from beneath the plane, its size becoming apparent as it had a colorful beach blanket covering its head.
The alligator swings and thrashes when one of the officers yanks off the beach towel and tries to wrangle it by wrapping a rope around its snout.
At one point, a cop is seen dragging the reptile with her entire body weight in an attempt to keep wrapping additional rope around the alligator’s muzzle.
After capturing the animal, the team is said to have given it a joyful ending. MacDill AFB stated on Facebook that the alligator was released into the Hillsborough River.
According to the post, “Our newest toothy Airman has been relocated to a more suitable environment off base. Special thanks to FWC for the assist.”
According to the base, Elvis, an even bigger alligator that is well-known in the neighborhood, is the one who “pushed” the alligator out of its residence.
