In Texarkana, Two Men Have Been Shot Dead In Less Than 24 Hours

In less than 24 hours, two men were shot and killed in Texarkana, Arkansas.

On Sunday, December 4, at approximately 3:28 p.m., police were dispatched to the 2000 block of East 24th Street. There, they discovered that Keeunta Gilliam, 19, had been shot. He was transported to the Wadley Regional Medical Center, where he passed away.

Authorities say they now have a warrant for the arrest of 18-year-old Jamauri Montavious Davis of Texarkana for first-degree murder.

He stands 5 feet, 8 inches tall, weighs 150 pounds, has black hair and brown eyes, and is armed and dangerous. Davis was last reported to be en route to El Dorado, Arkansas.

Police are also investigating the shooting death of Texarkana resident Joseph Ross, age 26. Early on Sunday morning, he was in a parking lot in the 4500 block of North Stateline Avenue, according to authorities.

Ross was taken in a private car to Christus St. Michael Hospital, where he was declared dead.

The bodies of both men will be taken to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory in Little Rock for autopsies.
