A Pregnant Woman, Age 19, Was Fatally Shot In Northeast Baltimore, According To Police

The young woman who was killed early Sunday morning has been named by police in Baltimore City. The police have also confirmed that the young woman was pregnant.

Police say that 19-year-old Jaymyra Burrell was shot and killed on December 4 in the 5600 block of Woodmont Avenue, just after 3 a.m. in Baltimore’s northeast. Police also say Burrell was expecting a child.

Police say that Burrell was rushed to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The baby in the womb did not live.

It is not clear how far along in her pregnancy Burrell was.

The department hasn’t said yet what they think happened before the shooting.

No information has been given about a motive or a suspect.

Posts on social media say that Burrell used to go to a local church.

Part of what the church wrote on Facebook was,

“We are sad to tell you that one of our youth members, Jaymyra Burrell, has died. “She is the daughter of people we trust.”

“Please pray for her family and the family of Greater Life Ministries.”
