Early Life

Michael Blackson was born in Tamale, Ghana, on November 28, 1972. Blackson and his parents moved to America when he was fifteen years old. Blackson has been interested in stand-up comedy and acting since he was a child.

Both of Blackson’s parents work for theatre companies. Furthermore, he provided no information about his education or family. His real name, however, is Jafari Ferguson.

At the time, he was greatly inspired by Eddie Murphy, the king of comedy, and performed in several comedy concerts, including the 1992 USA Comedy Central Tour in Philadelphia, and the 1993 Schlitz Malt Liquor Comedy Tour in Valley Forge, and the 1996 Urban Comedy Festival in New York.

Following that, in 2000, he competed in local comedy competitions such as the ‘Laffapolooza Comedy Festival in Atlanta and the ‘Bay Area Black Comedy Competition’ in Oakland.
