Lord Alan Sugar is a British businessman and media personality who is best known for being the host and boss of the long-running BBC competition show The Apprentice.

Alan Sugar was born in 1947 in Hackney, which is in East London. He is a British businessman, media personality, author, and politician now. In the New Year’s Honors of 2000, Sugar was given a knighthood for his work in business.
Amstrad, a company that makes consumer electronics, is his biggest business. He started it in 1968, when he was just 21 years old. Between 1991 and 2001, Sugar was the head of Tottenham Hotspur and a part-owner of the team. During this time, the club won one big trophy, the League Cup in the 1998–99 season.
In 2001, Daniel Levy became the owner of Tottenham Hotspur. In 2007, Sugar sold his last share of the club for £25 million. Later, on July 20, 2009, Sugar was made a life peer and given the title Baron Sugar of Clapton.
He is best known for being the Big Boss on the BBC reality show The Apprentice, where he has been since 2005. But he gives all of the money he makes from hosting the show to Great Ormond Street Hospital. Sugar got married to Ann Simmons in 1968, and the two of them now have three kids.

In 1991, he and Terry Venables bought Tottenham Hotspur Football Club. This was his next big business move. Before he sold the team in 2007, he had owned it for 16 years.
Lord Sugar now owns a lot of companies that make electronics, like the Internet TV service You’ve and the digital company Amscreen. He is also said to run Amsprop, a company that invests in real estate, with his son Dan, and Amsair, a company that flies businesspeople around.
Lord Sugar has had a long career and has won two honorary doctorates in science. In 2000, the Queen knighted him for his work in business.
Lord Sugar has many expensive cars, which doesn’t come as a surprise. Last year, he showed off his new plane, which is thought to be worth around £600,000, on Twitter.
