Pargo was a member of the Los Angeles Lakers, Toronto Raptors, Chicago Bulls, and New Orleans Hornets in the NBA from 2002 to 2008. He gained notoriety with the Hornets during the 2008 playoffs by filling in for star Chris Paul. In 12 postseason games, he averaged 10.3 points and nailed clutch three-pointers in Game 7 of the Western Conference semi-finals against the Spurs.
Following the 2007–08 NBA season, Pargo accepted a one-year, $3.8 million contract with Dynamo Moscow of the Russian League. Pargo was bought out of his Russian team in January 2009 and joined Olympiacos of the Greek League. Olympiacos released him on May 5, 2009. In the Euroleague, he averaged 3.5 points and 1.4 assists per game.
