Andrew Dominik wrote and will direct the upcoming American biographical fantasy novel film Blonde. Adapted from the 2000 novel of the same name by Joyce Carol Oates, the film is a fictionalized take on the life of actress Marilyn Monroe, played by Ana de Armas. In supporting roles, Adrien Brody, Bobby Cannavale, Xavier Samuel, and Julianne Nicholson also appear.

Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner, Tracey Landon, Brad Pitt, and Scott Robertson start serving as producers on the movie, which, after a long and complex period of work that started in 2010, started production in Los Angeles in August 2019. After the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, work was done in July 2021.

The movie’s release date of 2022 was confirmed by Netflix, and they kept their promise. Blonde will release on Netflix on September 23, 2022, just in time for awards season, according to a June 16 announcement. Netflix changed the release date to Wednesday, September 28, though.
