Disney Confirms Black Panther: Wakanda Forever/Black Panther 2 (2022) Release Date

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is a movie adaptation of the Marvel Comics character Black Panther. Produced by Marvel Studios and released by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, it is planned to be the follow-up to Black Panther (2018) and the thirty-first film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Ryan Coogler is directing the picture, which he co-wrote with Joe Robert Cole.

The search for a sequel started after the February 2018 release of Black Panther. In the months that followed, Coogler agreed to return as director, and Marvel Studios announced the sequel’s production in mid-2019. The film’s plans were significantly changed in August 2020 just after Chadwick Boseman’s death from colon cancer, with Marvel opting not to recast his role as T’Challa. Other members of the original film’s cast were confirmed to return by November, and the title was announced in May 2021.

The Plotline of “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”

This question stumps even the actors. Freeman, who stars CIA agent Everett K. Ross in the film, stated in an interview with James Corden in May 2021 that his chats with director Ryan Coogler haven’t disclosed anything about the narrative. An ex-Sherlock star described how the film director “carefully” walked him through every scene in the movie. “He guided me through the movie while keeping in mind the goals and motivations of my character. Some of it was odd, and I believe he could tell by my facial expression that he was making me uncomfortable. ‘Stay with me, but this is going to work.’ he kept repeating.

When it comes to Wakanda Forever, the Black Panther mantle is likely to be handed down from generation to generation. It is possible that Shuri (Wright), the sister of T’Challa, would play a role in the sequel’s plot, as she did in the comic books.

Ramonda, T’Challa’s mother, is played by Angela Bassett, who admitted to Entertainment Tonight that she has no idea what the movie, slated for release in July 2021, would look like. “The script has gone through about five iterations, and Now I’ve heard another is on the way.”
