Is Amanda Holden Had Plastic Surgery Journey
Amanda Holden, 51, recently stated she has keloid skin, a disease in which when a skin damage recovers, it leaves a thick raised scar that is typically larger than the original wound.
Amanda has been putting off cosmetic surgery because of her skin issue, often known as keloid scarring. Amanda stated why she won’t be undergoing surgery in an interview with You Magazine last year. “I have keloid skin, so surgery isn’t an option for me,” she explained.
“An excess of scar tissue causes keloids,” explains beauty expert Nurse Lucy Phillips, founder of Southampton clinic Kaizen Medical. “Keloids are usually pink or crimson in color, but they can darken with time.
“The scar can sometimes be much larger than the wound itself, with a smooth surface but a lumpy and ridged edge. They can appear anywhere on the body, but are more common following piercings, tattoos, puncture wounds, and injection sites.”
Keloid scars don’t always emerge right away after an injury, and they can take several years to disappear. They’re more common in people with darker skin tones, and they’re usually hairless and darker in color than the surrounding skin.
Amanda isn’t the only star with keloid skin problems. Kylie Jenner has a keloid scar on her thigh as a result of a childhood incident. She’s open about the scar, remarking in 2015 on Instagram, “I adore my car.”
While Amanda has avoided surgery due to her keloid skin, she does have cosmetic procedures such as Morpheus8, a combination radiofrequency and micro-needling process that stimulates collagen synthesis (thus her youthful appearance), and collagen wave facials to keep her skin appearing plump.
“The results have been absolutely spectacular,” Amanda wrote on Instagram about Morpheus8 before Britain’s Got Talent live shows in 2020. My skin has noticeable plumpness to it and is much tighter. I’m more than happy to extol the virtues of this new treatment from the rooftops! It was the best hour investment I’ve ever made in terms of looking at least five years younger.”
