Preston Wayne Freddie Palanio, a 13-year-old Coeur d’Alene Hockey Association (CDAHA) player from Port Falls, Idaho, died in what appears to be a suicide. The obituary page for Preston Palanio says that he died on May 25, 2022. His birthday is March 26, 2009.

The Coeur d’Alene Hockey Association shared a post about Preston Wayne Freddie Palanio after he died suddenly. In the post, they called him a “competitive hockey player.” The statement said, “This week, Preston Palanio, a member of the CDAHA family, died. It was a terrible loss for all of us.” Preston was a good hockey player who always showed up to play for his team.

Every game, he worked hard and played hard. We will miss seeing him at the rink and seeing his smile. Please join us tonight in honor of Preston by putting #sticksoutforPreston.

Jason Palanio also wrote about his life celebration. He said, “If Preston touched your heart in any way, or if you just want to come to support our family, please come to my son’s service and help us say goodbye to the only boy who owns my heart.” Services will be held at One Place Church on Saturday, June 4, 2022, at 11:00 AM.

He also said that a graveside service was held at Greenwood Cemetery in Kellogg, Idaho, at 3:00 PM. People who want to say goodbye to Preston One Place Church in person can do so from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM before the service.

Teegan and I want to thank all of you who have sent messages, called, dropped off gifts, food, and flowers, or messaged us on Facebook. My best friend is Preston, and I miss him. We’re looking forward to giving him the biggest and best funeral we can, because Preston wouldn’t want it any other way. So, Jason said, please come join us.

Condolences

“This is an extremely hard post to make! Preston Wayne Palanio you are going to be missed I loved you more than you’ll ever know you had so much personality! I can’t believe you are gone but I’m blessed to have you in my life you’re forever in my heart!  Rest easy my sweet boy!”

“Preston was a couple of years older than Ryker but they crossed paths several times over the years. Ryker chased Preston around the ice those 1st couple of years, as Preston was a gifted little hockey player & skated his heart out.

Our thoughts & prayers are with the Palacio family. Preston had a contagious smile & he will be missed by all! #sticksoutforpreston here at a spring hockey tournament in Vancouver, BC.”
