I had brain surgery less than 48 hours ago, which is why I’m wearing a neck brace, the 37-year-old actress explained in a video she posted to her Instagram account. The lowest part of my brain, she said.

She clarified that she had just recently left the hospital and continued, saying it had been “an exciting previous couple of days.” Storms further stressed that what the doctors “had to drain and remove” was not cancer to stop internet falsehoods from taking off.

Storms stated, “I had a really big cyst that had split into two. It was so full that the pressure was obvious when the physicians opened up her skull.”

The actress said she will be “on the mend” for a few weeks before returning to work once she is fully recovered. During this period, I’m going to knit.

Storms is well-known for portraying Maxie Jones on ABC’s General Hospital, for which she received a 2009 Primetime Emmy nomination. She has also appeared on 7th Heaven and Days of Our Lives.
