Overwatch 2 Beta Release Date, Characters, System Requirement, Gameplay, And More Details

The beta for Overwatch 2 is almost here, bringing an end to a two-year content famine for the game. Since the addition of the hero Echo in April 2020, there hasn’t been a significant update to the game. Since then, fans have been eagerly awaiting the release of the sequel.

Overwatch 2’s PvP content will be available for users to try out ahead of the game’s full release, rather than having to wait until the PvE side of the game is completed. It has been changed significantly from the original Overwatch in that teams are made up of one tank, two damage, and two support players, rather than 6v6 as it was in the original.

Due to a large amount of content in the Overwatch 2 beta, we’ve compiled a comprehensive guide that includes everything you need to know – including the beta’s release date, which characters are getting reworks, which new maps, heroes, and game types are included. With so much to learn about the Overwatch 2 PvP beta, we’ve compiled a comprehensive guide to help you get started.

Overwatch 2 Beta Release Date

On April 26, 2022, the first Overwatch 2 beta will be made available, according to the game’s developers, Blizzard Entertainment. It is currently unknown when exactly the beta will go live on that day, but our best guess is at 11 a.m. PT/ 2 p.m. ET, which corresponds to the time when new Overwatch patches and updates are typically issued. Currently, there is no official word on when the beta will go live.

We don’t know when the Overwatch 2 beta will come to an end, but given the developers’ eagerness to get players’ hands on the game and test it fully, we expect it to be on the longer side and endure for a few weeks at the very least. However, there is a chance that it will not endure for very long at all. We’ll post an update as soon as we receive additional information.

Overwatch 2 Beta: Gameplay

The arrival of Sojourn, a new damage hero with strong ranged attacks and excellent horizontal and vertical mobility, is arguably the most exciting aspect of the Overwatch 2 beta.

Sojourn is a new damage hero with powerful ranged attacks and excellent horizontal and vertical mobility. Listed below is a breakdown of the weapons and abilities available to Sojourn, as revealed by the creators during a recent Livestream:

Railgun: The primary weapon of Sojourn. Primary firing is characterized by rapid-fire bullets that accumulate energy. Secondary fire is characterized by the deployment of high-impact shots that utilize saved energy.

PowerPoint: An ability that allows Sojourn to slide in the direction you’re traveling in, resulting in a speed boost for both of your characters. When you jump during the slide, you get a really high jump.

Shot of Disruption: This enables Sojourn to fire an energy sphere at foes, slowing and damaging them while they are stuck in it.

Overclock: For a limited time, Sojourn’s Ultimate ability allows her Railgun to auto-generate energy, while also allowing her Railgun assaults to penetrate several foes at the same time.

Based on the gameplay we’ve seen so far and what we know about her weapons and abilities, it appears that Sojourn will be a cross between Soldier: 76 and Ashe in terms of gameplay. Sojourn is predicted to be an extremely powerful hero, owing to her ability to move quickly and easily with her Power Slide, as well as the versatility of her Railgun.

Overwatch 2 Beta Maps

Except for the Assault maps, all of the maps from the first game will be available in the Overwatch 2 beta, just like the heroes.
