Here’s everything we know about Gotham Knights, from the heroes to the plot.
Gotham Knights, produced by WB Games Montreal, is the most recent Batman world game, and it does not feature Batman. You’ll dress up as Batgirl, Nightwing, Red Hood, and Robin while the bat is away. After Bruce Wayne is said to have been killed in a Batcave bat explosion, the extended Bat-Family is left to cover his Gotham vigilante shifts.
Developers In 2013, WB Games Montreal worked on Arkham Origins and some of Arkham Knight in 2015. Despite the fact that Gotham Knights is not part of the Arkham universe, the game’s great pedigree is a good indicator.
As with any DC game, you can expect to see familiar and frightening enemies like Mr. Freeze and the Court of Owls, an organized crime syndicate.
Here’s all we know about Gotham Knights, including the game’s release date, plot, and co-op gameplay.
Gotham Knights Expected Release Date
The anticipated release date for Gotham Knights is October 25, 2022.
This was supposed to come out in 2021, according to Warner Bros. Of course, that didn’t happen, which is predictable given the number of titles that have been delayed as a result of the pandemic’s global repercussions.
However, the publisher allowed the developers a lot more leeway last summer, and the game is now set to release in the fall. It’ll still be available on the PS4 and Xbox One, but it’ll also be available on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
Gotham Knights Gameplay & Settings
Gotham Knights is a wholly original story set in an open-world Gotham City after the deaths of Batman and Police Commissioner Jim Gordon.
As a result, crime is up, with well-known DC villains such as Mr. Freeze and Penguin hoping to profit from Batman’s absence.
The Gotham Knights, however, take up the mantle of protecting the city after receiving a pre-recorded message from Batman, while also learning who killed the Caped Crusader in the first place and how the enigmatic criminal society, the Court of Owls, is linked to the ongoing chaos.
Gotham Knights is an open-world action role-playing game in which you can take on the roles of Batgirl, Robin, Nightwing, and Red Hood.
Each of these characters has a unique play style and set of skills. Nightwing is a master of acrobatics and wields his distinctive dual escrima sticks; Robin is a great fighter and is trained in stealth, and Red Hood is powerful and proficient in a variety of weaponry.
The Batcomputer will be at the heart of the Gotham Knights’ home base, and it will be where the heroes hang out during the day and plan their next moves.
The heroes go out at night to find clues, confront crime in the city’s five districts, and explore. Heroes will be able to explore Gotham City using the Batcycle and a grapple.
Players will choose a hero to play as before going out on midnight patrol, however, you can swap your crimefighter at the Belfrey. You are not required to play as a specific hero at any moment, and you can complete the game with only one hero.
Each hero has their own set of abilities and items that may be crafted, with experience gained through open-world activities. At the Belfrey, players will be able to customize their heroes’ equipment and skills.
While you can play Gotham Knights solo, you can also play co-op multiplayer, which allows a second player to join the game as one of your fellow Knights without interfering with your gameplay.
Gotham City will be a living, breathing environment with citizens going about their daily lives, a variety of criminal groups, and iconic landmarks from the Batman Universe (films, TV shows, and comic books), including the GCPD. The Rogue Gallery of Batman will also make an appearance.
Gotham Knights Pre-Orders
We can only hope that with such a precise release date announced in advance, we can expect it to arrive on time. That implies pre-orders are open and ready at some retailers.
There is currently no pre-order website accessible in the United States, but we will update this article as soon as one becomes available.
The base appears to have the best prices in the UK right now. We also don’t know if the game will employ Microsoft’s smart delivery feature, which allows you to put an Xbox One game into a Studio X and download the shinier, 4K edition of the game.
The same holds true for using a PS4 game on a PS5, thus we’ve included all pre-order options for now.
