Young Royals Season 2 Expected Cast
Edvin Ryding in the role of Prince Wilhelm will almost certainly return in Young Royals season two. Expect the following people to join him:
- Simon is played by Omar Rudberg.
- August is played by Malte Grdinger.
- Sara is played by Frida Argento.
- Felice is played by Nikita Uggla.
- Queen Kristina of Sweden, Pernilla August
- Madison is played by Nathalie Varli.
- Linda is played by Carmen Gloria Pérez.
Both Ryding and Rudberg have a strong connection to their respective personas.
Young Royals Season 2 Expected Plot
Wilhelm and Simon’s relationship swiftly fell apart after August leaked an s*x tape featuring them. Wilhelm was encouraged to hide his participation in place to protect his family, but in the process, he betrayed Simon.
Wilhelm asks Simon in the season one finale whether they can stay to be together in private. Anything more would jeopardise the Crown’s reputation. That isn’t good enough for Simon, so he calls a halt to their relationship. Or so he believes because it’s evident at the conclusion that both teenagers still have feelings for one another.
In season two, will Wilhelm continue to follow his mother’s wishes? We have our doubts. There will be a lot of s*xual tension in future episodes, given that he and Simon will still see each other in Hillerska… provided, of course, that Simon can even forgive Wilhelm for what he did.
Season two of Young Royals will have a lot more struggle between duty and desire, as well as the aftermath of August’s treachery. We never had faith in him!
Before Netflix officially announced Young Royals’ return, actor Omar Rudberg said (via The Mud Mag) that whatever happens, things are “going to get insane.”
“I have no idea what’s going to happen,” Omar admitted. “But, if you look at the series and consider what it exposes about the characters, in the end, I believe there is a lot more to come. If there is a season two, and I sincerely hope there is, I think it will be fantastic. The drama is about to escalate to a new level, and things are about to go insane.”
“I wish him a lot of suspense and action! More singing, please! And I sincerely hope that everything goes his way!” Omar continued (via TheAntiMagazine).
Is this a sign that good things are on the way for Wilhelm and Simon?
Whatever happens, the narratives in Season 2 will be dense – there’s a lot to fit into the six-episode span.
“As is typically the case, many plots were cut short in season one, and I’m a writer who has a hard time cramming too much into a single episode.
So far, I feel like we haven’t even scratched the surface of some of the ideas and character developments, so there’s still a lot to unravel “The Next Rush Magazine spoke with Ambjörn, the chief writer.
“Because it’s a narrative about what happens when someone begins to challenge a long-standing power system, and because guys have historically held that authority, it seemed like the appropriate choice to center it around masculinity.
In the fact that August and Simon fight for Wilhelm’s interest, pushing and tugging him in different directions, it’s almost like a triangular drama between Wilhelm, Simon, and August.”
