The Marvel Cinematic Universe is shaping into an eclectic mix of genres. Between the sitcom treatment of WandaVision and the coming-of-age story seen in Ms. Marvel, the studio has experimented quite a bit. She-Hulk: Attorney At Law, the next show joining the line-up, is yet another step into the unpredictable Phase 4. Starring Emmy-winning actress Tatiana Maslany as the titular character, the show is about a superhero with the same powers as the Incredible Hulk. And that’s perhaps all you know about her. She is, after all, one of the most underrated Marvel characters.

First Up, Who Is She-Hulk?

She-Hulk/Jennifer Walters, played in the series by Maslany, is the cousin sister of Bruce Banner/Hulk (played by Mark Ruffalo in the MCU). As the title suggests, she is a professional lawyer and pretty good at that. The show is a 9-part legal comedy that will follow her breaking the fourth wall and navigating life as a single 30-something who can transform into a towering green superhero. She was first introduced in The Savage She-Hulk #1, a 1979 comic by Stan Lee, Steve Buscemi, and Chic Stone. In the comics, she gets her powers after Bruce Banner performs a blood transfusion in an emergency. The gamma radiation in his blood gives her the capabilities of Hulk. So what’s the difference between Hulk and She-Hulk, you ask? Unlike the Avenger, she is fully conscious even in her Hulk form and retains her intelligence. Walters at first tries to suppress her powers till she learns to control them. However, she has a whole new set of challenges. She has her work cut out between keeping her powers in check and using her qualifications as an attorney to help superhumans like herself.

How Does She-Hulk Fit Into The MCU’s Unpredictable Timeline And When?

It’s difficult to say because Marvel hasn’t formally declared when the She-Hulk events occur. Bruce Banner is depicted in She-trailers Hulk’s wearing a sling over his arm and human form. In the Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings mid-credits scene, he was seen with the same appearance. In the movie Avengers: Endgame, he also makes an appearance as Smart Hulk minus the arm damage from donning the Infinity Gauntlet. The hard part comes at this point. In an interview with TV Line, the writer of the show, Jessia Gao, revealed that the series is set “not too far” after Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, so at least we know that. The appearance of Abomination in his human form in the trailer is another clue concerning the chronology. Wong and the character appeared in Shang-Chi together in beast form (played by Benedict Wong). This brings up the show’s constant stream of cameo appearances.

The MCU Cameos That Are Verified

Bruce will be seen by She-Hulk directing Jennifer using all of his expertise as a Hulk. The advertisements also show them working out together, so it appears that Bruce will feature on the show very frequently. The extent of his involvement, however, is not yet known. Along with Bruce, the Sorcerer Supreme Wong, last seen in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, is also present in the show. Matt Murdock/Daredevil is the show’s most eagerly awaited tie-in (played by Charlie Cox). Since his appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home, fans have been clamoring for the character’s return in any way, and it now appears that he will remain in the MCU. According to several rumors, the showrunners have admitted that the She-Hulk will have a more humorous side.

Abomination: Who is He?

Emil Blonsky/Abomination (played by Tim Roth), who made his initial MCU appearance as an antagonist in The Incredible Hulk, is one of the returning MCU villains making a reappearance in She-Hulk. Blonsky received an injection of Bruce Banner’s blood and the super soldier serum, transforming him into a monster. He lost to Hulk in the movie and wasn’t seen again until Shang-Chi, where Wong and the Abomination fight before the former give the latter fighting advice. So, they have a cordial relationship. In the teaser for the show, Emil is conversing with Walters while in a maximum-security facility and may be serving as his attorney.

Titania, who is she?

One of the more recent characters to be introduced to the MCU is Mary MacPherran/Titania. Playing the part is Jameela Jamil. In the comic books, she pretends to be Spider-Woman to fulfill her desire for abilities. After a run-in with Doctor Doom, she acquires superpowers and changes into the supervillain Titania. Jennifer is shown working on a case in court as She-Hulk interrupts the session in the trailer. The program will show her as a critical figure who gives the character a contemporary twist.

Jessica Gao, who is also serving as the showrunner, wrote She-Hulk. Directors Anu Valia and Kat Coiro are involved. Jameela Jamil, Ginger Gonzaga, Josh Segarra, Jon Bass, and other actors are featured in the program. The program’s first episode will air on August 18, and fresh ones will follow every week.
