Vince McMahon, longstanding chairman and CEO of World Wrestling Entertainment, announced his retirement on Friday, a month after stepping down from both jobs after harassment claims.
Stephanie McMahon, who was appointed temporary chairperson and CEO last month, will continue to serve as chairwoman and co-CEO with Nick Khan, the business said.
Mr. McMahon is leaving after it was reported in June by The Wall Street Journal that the board of W.W.E. had been investigating a $3 million payout he decided to pay to an employee with whom he is rumored to have had a relationship.
In a Twitter post on Friday, Mr. McMahon wrote, “At 77, time for me to retire.” Here’s the exact tweet:

Why Vince McMahon’s Retirement Can Be Good News for WWE?
For the past few years, the WWE has gone stale. That’s why the ratings of their weekly shows smackdown & raw episodes continue to go downhill.
On top of that, there is AEW, which is giving significant threat to WWE ever since its formation.
After losing some of the die-hard wrestling viewers to AEW, recently made some changes and the biggest one was shift in the rating of their show from PG-13 to PG 14.
Now that Vince McMohan has retired, this change indicates WWE will take some extreme steps to once again regain the throne they never lost in the first place.

HHH Resumes EVP Role
Apart from Vince McMahon’s retirement, another big breaking news is HHH resuming his EVP role after his medical emergency.
WWE has announced that effective immediately, Paul ‘HHH’ Levesque will once again rejoin WWE as EVP, Talent Relations.
After rejoining WWE, HHH made the following comment:
“I look forward to returning to my prior position as head of Talent Relations. I’m healthy, fired up, and ready to take charge.”
Levesque had to take time off from WWE due to his heart ailment. While introducing the second night of WrestleMania 38 as WWE’s chief operating officer on April 3rd, he also announced his retirement from wrestling by leaving a microphone and his wrestling boots in the ring.
