The second season of “The Witcher” just came out on Netflix and was a complete success for the streaming service.

The series is so popular with fans that it is already known that there will be a third season around the witcher Gerald, Ciri, and Yennefer. Netflix is planning to set up its own franchise with “The Witcher.” In addition to a second animated film and a “family-friendly” series adaptation, there will be another series in the “Witcher” universe: “Blood Origin” tells the prehistory of the “Witcher” saga.

So a lot that fans can look forward to. Also a lot of pressure on the actors who are supposed to bring the characters to life. So also for Anya Chalotra, who plays the sorceress Yennefer in the series. She recently admitted having severe anxiety disorders because of the pressure on her.

That Was How Bad The Early Days Were For The Actress

In an interview with LAD Bible, the actress spoke about the terrible early days – after all, she took on this well-known and popular role as a still relatively inexperienced actress. “I had fear attacks,” admits the actress. “I think I was putting a lot of pressure on myself right at the beginning, but when I got on set, I didn’t have the experience that I would have liked.”

She then decided to trust her instinct, which helped her a lot in the end. The experience she got through the first season also helped her a lot to gain confidence in herself and her abilities. “After the first season, I felt more confident about the second season and, oddly enough, felt less pressure about the size of the fan base and expectations.” We have, of course, already seen the second season and can only congratulate Chalotra on her work.

The Witcher Season 2: Geralt’s Love For Yennefer

In season 1, you noticed that there is strong chemistry between Geralt von Riva and Yennefer von Vengerberg (played by Anya Chalotra). Some even say that she is Geralt’s, great love. But Geralt thought Yennefer was killed in the great Battle of Sodden. And that’s also when the sorceress Triss Merigold (played by Anna Shaffer) gets a more prominent appearance and enters Geralt’s life.

Actor Henry Cavill has his own opinion: “When I played the games, and especially when I read the books, I always had the feeling that Geralt’s core was always Team Yennefer.”
