In the official IMDB storyline description, The Northman is described as an “action-packed epic” that follows a young Viking prince on his quest to revenge for the death of his father. Written by Robert Eggers and Icelandic writer, Sjón, the film is described as “an action-filled epic.”
According to the plot, the story is based on the Scandinavian mythology that served as inspiration for Shakespeare’s Hamlet. In The Northman, Amleth, the Viking Prince, escapes his land following an attack on his people, and he devotes the remainder of his life to the axiom: “There is no such thing as a good man who does not do good.” “Father, I will revenge your death. I’ll come to your aid, mama. I shall assassinate you, Fjolnir.”

As of right now, The Northman will have an exclusive theatrical release on April 22nd, commencing on the big screen. “Look, my biggest concern is that people feel confident and comfortable going to movie theatres in April to see this movie because it really deserves to be seen on the big screen because it is quite literally an epic, and the scale of the landscapes and some of the action sequences…”, Eggers stated in a recent interview with Collider.
