The CW Announces Three New TV Series! Gotham Knights, The Winchesters & Walker

The CW is moving forward in view of the next television season, starting to sift through different TV series with which to enrich your schedule. Last year he had already made it known that he had set his sights on three titles belonging to already existing universes and above all successful for the network.

We are talking about The Winchesters, Walker: Independence, prequel respectively of Supernatural and of the show with Jared Padalecki, and finally of Gotham Knights, a new title focused on superheroes. To date, we still don’t have the certainty that everyone will land on TV between next autumn and winter. The CW, in fact, has only ordered the pilots at the moment.

Once he has seen the material produced, he will make a decision. In the worst case, we will know everything in May, on the occasion of the Upfronts, an event during which each network presents its own news. But what exactly are these The CW TV series about?

The First Details

The Winchesters revolve around Sam and Dean’s parents, John and Mary. This is an epic story never told before of how the two met and how they put everything at risk not only to save their love but the whole world. The point of view offered to us in the narrative is that of Dean. Indeed, Jensen Ackles is actively involved in the project.

Walker: Independence is set in the late 1800s and follows the story of  Abby Walker, a wealthy woman originally from Boston, whose husband is killed before her eyes, on their journey to Over. On the way to revenge, Abby runs into Hoyt Rawlins, a lovable scoundrel looking for a purpose, and together they travel to the Texas town of  Independence.

What Is Known About Gotham Knights?

The CW is determined to expand its superhero programming by creating a Gotham Knights TV series based on comic book characters created by Bob Kane and Bill Finger, who are also featured in a video game. For the moment there is still nothing confirmed except the pilot. The network has chosen to once again rely on the Batwoman team, made up of executive producers Chad Fiveash and James Stoteraux and story editor Natalie Abrams.

Gotham Knights kick-off following the murder of Bruce Wayne, when his rebellious son forms an unlikely alliance with the children of Batman’s enemies, all unjustly accused of killing the Dark Knight. Considered by the entire city as one of the most wanted criminals, the gang will have to do everything possible to clear their name of false accusations.

At the moment, not being sure that The CW will promote the project by securing the first season, we can’t tell you when the Gotham Knights TV series comes out. In all likelihood, we should get more details over the next few months. The show could, in fact, be part of the network’s 2022/2023 season schedule and therefore debut on TV either in the fall or at the beginning of 2023. We’ll see what happens.

The cast of the TV series Gotham Knights remains unknown at the moment. Should the project proceed undisturbed over the next few months, we will get to know the first actors who will take part in the show and the characters they will play. Gotham Knights is a Berlanti Productions production, in association with Warner Bros. TV. Chad Fiveash and James Stoteraux will appear as executive producers alongside Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter and David Madden.

Finally, you will have to understand that at the moment we cannot know where we will be able to see Gotham Knights in streaming since we still have to understand if The CW will approve the project
