That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime Season 3: Will The Anime Return? All The Latest Details!

The popular and entertaining isekai anime series “That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime” (Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken) has just completed its first season, bringing the total number of episodes in the series to 36 for Season 2. You will, however, have to wait — most likely until the current season is completed, at the very least — if you are looking forward to a third season of the series right now.

The show, which follows the adventures of a 37-year-old man who is stabbed and reincarnated in a fantasy world as a slime with a variety of abilities, is based on a light novel of the same title. It was adapted into an anime series that premiered in 2018, though the second season, which was darker and more morally ambiguous, was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It is now broadcast in a specific format, with seasons divided into two three-month segments, as opposed to the previous format. Instead of waiting for the third season, fans will have to wait for the final 12 episodes of the second season, which will be released in early 2015. As of right now, the following information is available about the upcoming episodes of “That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime.”

That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime Renewed For Season 3

“That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime” began airing new episodes on July 6, 2021, and ended on September 21, 2021, with the final episode airing on October 6, 2021. The anime, on the other hand, has not yet reached the third season. Instead, it was the second half of Season 2, which was split into two parts. As of this writing, ‘That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime’ has not yet been renewed for a third season on the Disney Channel.

‘That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime’ is one of the most well-known and well-loved anime series ever produced. On MyAnimeList, the second season is currently rated an incredible 8.41 out of 10 stars. The anime has a large following of viewers from all over the world. As a result, there is a great deal of interest in a third season.

Given the fact that season 2 has finally come to an end, it is possible that Eight Bit will announce a renewal soon. There are, on the other hand, instances in which animes go for extended periods of time before announcing new seasons. The same cannot be said for ‘That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime,’ which hopefully will not be the case. There is a plethora of source material that can be used to create adaptations. The light novel series has currently been published in 19 volumes, and the anime has not yet covered even half of that amount of material.

If the anime is officially renewed for a third season, we will update this post.

That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime Season 3 Release Date

Season 3 has not yet been confirmed, so the best we can do for the time being is make educated guesses based on a few factors. The first season of the anime, which consisted of 24 episodes, premiered on October 5, 2018, and ran until March 22, 2019. The second season was released in two parts: the first and second half of the season. The first 12 episodes of season 2 aired between January 12, 2021, and March 30, 2021, on the NBC television network. The second split course began on July 6, 2021, and was expected to be completed by September of that year.

There was a nearly two-year gap between the final episode of season one and the premiere of season two. In addition, an anime film will be released in the fall of 2022, which will be directed by Hideaki Anno. In order to meet this deadline, the third season will most likely premiere in 2023.

That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime Season 3 Cast

Seasons 1 and 2 of “That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime” featured the same cast, though the show’s director changed between the seasons — Atsushi Nakayama took over for Yasuhito Kikuchi, who had directed the first season. Because the upcoming episodes, which will premiere in July, are still considered to be part of Season 2, there shouldn’t be any significant changes in the voice talent or crew between the first and second seasons.

Among the Japanese voice actors who have appeared in previous seasons are Miho Okasaki as the slime Rimuru, Megumi Toyoguchi as the Great Sage, Chikahiro Kobayashi as the wolfish Ranga, Asuna Tomari as the hobgoblin Gobta, Mao Ichimichi as the ogress Shion, and Kanehira Yamamoto as goblin leader Rigurd. Brittney Karbowski will portray Rimuru, Mallorie Rodak will portray Great Sage, Tyson Rinehart will portray Ranga, Ryan Reynolds will portray Gobta, Michelle Rojas will portray Shion, and Kent Williams will portray Rigurd in the English dub of the series.

That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime Season 3 Plot

This episode, titled “Octagram,” is the final episode of season 2, and it depicts Rimuru’s final battle against the demon lord Clayman. Clayman has gained new abilities as a result of his awakening, making him an even more dangerous adversary.

Nonetheless, the episode concludes on a positive note, with Rimuru emerging victorious from the fight.

The conclusion of season 3 is expected to take place after the events of the epic battle; this is assuming that the forthcoming film will be an original story rather than a sequel.

Season 2’s final episode corresponds to the conclusion of the light novel Volume 6: The Octagram Soars Brightly, which was released earlier this year.

In accordance with the anime’s pacing and where the previous season left off, the third season will almost certainly begin adapting Volume 7.

Volume 7 has been given the official synopsis, which is as follows:

“In the midst of a crisis, a brave glob! Even though it was only a few days ago, news of the defeat of the demon lord Clayman by Rimuru has sent tremors through the Holy Empire of Lubelius—especially since Hinata Sakaguchi, the nation’s Imperial Guard commander and captain of the Crusader forces, launched a daring attack on Rimuru not long before. Things become even direr when a priest dispatched by Rimuru to attend an urgent meeting of Lubelius high-ranking officials is assassinated. There are no greater risks for either side as Hinata heads to Tempest, where she will seek resolution. One wrong move could spell total war for both sides.”
