Kathleen Jordan developed the teen comedy-drama Teenage Bounty Hunters for Netflix. After denting their father’s pickup truck, fraternal twin sisters Sterling and Blair Wesley—who are still in high school—are forced to take on bounty hunting for seasoned bounty hunter Bowser Simmons. Without their parents’ knowledge, they accept the job in order to pay for the truck’s repair.
Teenage Bounty Hunters Season 2: Renewed Or Canceled?
We previously had it on good authority that Teenage Bounty Hunters would be returning to Netflix for a second season. Unfortunately, this is no longer the case, with Netflix canceling the Original after only one season.
Netflix and executive producer Jenji Kohan have yet to reveal the reason for the cancellation.
The most likely explanation is that the series did not achieve the level of popularity and viewership that Netflix required, or that the ongoing global pandemic played a role, as we’ve seen with other cancellations.
Teenage Bounty Hunters had a strong start on Netflix, but its popularity faded quickly. The series lasted less than two weeks in the top ten in the United States and only three days in the United Kingdom.
Teenage Bounty Hunters Season 2 Release Date
With the cancellation of Teenage Bounty Hunters, any speculation we had previously is now moot.
Based on the first season’s output, we predicted that a second season would have arrived by the end of 2021. Teenage Bounty Hunters may become one of an increasing number of casualties as a result of the growing backlog of Originals in production, owing in part to the global pandemic.
What was season two going to be about?
When it was revealed that Sterling and Blair aren’t identical twins, season two came to a shocking conclusion. It was discovered that Debbie’s twin sister, who abducted Sterling, was actually her mother and that their parents had been lying about it for a long time.
Sterling experienced other heartbreak in addition to that. Sterling wanted to let the rest of the school know about her new relationship with April, but April was adamant that she couldn’t, so Sterling ended up kissing Luke once more. In the meantime, April’s father has been released from prison and has undoubtedly been after the girls ever since they turned him it.
Blair would have to deal with the effects of her breakup with Miles, which must undoubtedly still hurt. Bowser had intended to leave town, but Blair’s request for assistance persuaded him to return. He might have left, which would have forced our favorite bounty hunters to forgo their preferred method of operation.
Teenage Bounty Hunters Season 2 Cast
Since no characters were killed off in Teenage Bounty Hunters season 1, everyone was anticipated to return for season 2, which ended on a significant cliffhanger. Accordingly, Kadeem Hardison as Bowser, Virginia Williams and Mackenzie Astin as Debbie and Anderson Wesley, and the rest of the supporting cast, including Anjelica Bette Fellini and Maddie Phillips as Blair and Sterling Wesley, would unquestionably return. Additionally, Williams will now openly portray Debbie and Dana, the identical twins, following the shocking revelation in the season 1 finale.
It will be interesting to see what new characters Season 2 of Teenage Bounty Hunters introduces. Would Miles (Myles Evans) be replaced by a new love interest for Blair? Will April (Devon Hales) find someone new or will Sterling try to win her back? If Sterling, Blair, and Bowser decide to carry on with their business partnership as bounty hunters, Season 2 will also introduce new skips for them to capture.
