Shetland Season 7 Renewed: BBC Release Date, Cast & Plot Updates

On Wednesday night, BBC One’s Shetland concluded on a significant cliffhanger, with 2 main characters being arrested on charges of murder.

Duncan Hunter (Douglas Henshall) and Detective Inspector Jimmy Perez (Douglas Henshall) were both accused of the killing of season four’s villain Donna Killick (Fiona Bell). Killick’s (Fiona Bell) final act before taking her own life was to incriminate both men in her death. Killick was portrayed by Fiona Bell.

Duncan, Jimmy’s adored step-daughter Cassie’s biological father, had steadily become friends with Jimmy over the course of the season, and the two men formed an odd friendship.

Duncan confessed to assisting Donna in committing herself at her request, although Donna had previously sent a letter to her lawyer prior to her death, implying that the two men planned to murder her.

After Duncan turned himself in (in the hopes of protecting Jimmy), the cops also arrested Jimmy.

Viewers are now hungry for answers after such a massive climax, with one important question still unanswered: will Shetland return for a 7th season?

Shetland Series 7 has been renewed for a seventh season in 2022.

Series 7 of Shetland is set to premiere on BBC One in 2022. seasons 6 of one of the most famous crime shows on British television have been produced because of the excitement and intrigue. The story takes place on a small island community, and the film has won numerous awards, including a BAFTA.

The first episode was released on March 10, 2013, and the show has been a hit for the past eight years. The BBC has officially announced the return of Season 7.

The cast and crew already had begun filming, and David Kane, the film’s creator, is looking for a 2022 release date. In the fall of 2022, it is anticipated to be launched. So you’ll have to wait a few months for the show to return.

Shetland Season 7 Expected Cast

There is a strong possibility that each of the main primary characters from the Shetland cast will return for the upcoming seventh season.

On a more personal basis, his mother passed away, and his father is showing some signs of Alzheimer’s disease or dementia, which hangs over him all season. So he has a lot of family problems to deal with this year.

The comeback of serial murderer Donna Killick, whose release in Season 6 angered many people, especially the sister of one of her victims, Kate Kilmuir. In a last-minute twist, it was revealed that Galbraith’s own wife, Eve (Cora Bissett), had killed him and that their daughter had known this the whole time.

She also told Niven Guthrie, who was in charge of her election campaign, to keep Eamon Gauldie quiet. At the end of the first episode, Gauldie died because of this. What happened next, on the other hand, surprised the fans.
