In November 2018, the streaming service Netflix started the reboot of the animated series ” She-Ra and the rebel princesses “. The series is connected with five seasons and found many fans in the LGBTQ + community due to the portrayal of queer characters. It has now become known that DreamWorks is planning a live-action series for the franchise for Amazon Prime Video.

“She-Ra and the Rebel Princesses” has its origins in the “Masters of the Universe” franchise from toy manufacturer Mattel in the 1980s. Just recently, Netflix revived the cult figure He-Man with ” Masters of The Universe: Revelation “.

That’s What “She-Ra” Is About

Adora, an orphan, and half-sister of Prince Adam alias He-Man finds a magical sword with which she can transform herself into the mighty warrior She-Ra like in a Magical Girl anime. She leads a rebellion against Hordak and his army, the evil Horde, to free their planet Eternia.

She-Ra: Production Updates

Not much is known about the real series yet. The production will take place in the studios of DreamWorks. “She-Ra” is in an early stage of development and the scriptwriters are not yet known. The live-action series is supposed to tell its own story that has nothing to do with the Netflix animated series “She-Ra and the Rebel Princesses”.

The animated series was developed by comic book artist and screenwriter Noelle Stevenson (“They Called Him Wander”) and produced between 2018 and 2020 by DreamWorks Animation Television. Chuck Austen (“Kipo and the World of Wonder Monsters”) was the executive producer.

She-Ra: Season 6 Of The Anime Series?

The fifth season of She-Ra and the Princesses of Power premiered in May 2021 on Netflix. The fifth season consisting of 13 episodes rang a bell in the minds of its fans and was one of the most watched seasons of the show so far. Similar to its fifth season, the sixth season as reported will have 13 episodes and will release on May 13th 2022 on Netflix.

It is being rumored that the main key cast will return for the new season. These include Aimee Carrero as She-Ra, Karen Fukuhara as Glimmer, Jordan Fisher as Seahawk, Lorraine Toussaint as Shadow Weaver, Lauren Ash as Scorpia, Reshma Shetty as Angella and Keston John as Hordak.

As mentioned, the fans still have to wait for a couple of months to witness the return of She-Ra on Netflix screens. While the reports of its live-action adaptations are limited, as soon as there is any update you will find it here.
