Russian Doll Season 2 Cast Revealed; Season 1 Review: Who Plays Nora In Russian Doll?

Russian Doll’s second season has returned to Netflix following a three-year absence. Natasha Lyonne produces and performs in the series, and we absolutely loved the first season, which received 13 Emmy awards. There are lots of reasons to love Russian Doll.

The first season was almost entirely set and filmed in the East Village and Lower East Side (as is the second season, although part of it was also filmed abroad). It is definitely a show that explores an idea that many of us have considered — what if we lived in multiple realities and died in some but not in others? However, the Russian Doll performs so in a unique and informed manner.

The new season explores a similar subject of time travel. New York City and its unique residents are well-represented in the show’s first season, which made us laugh out loud. Also, you have to appreciate a show that manages to integrate a major storyline about bodega cats. The second season is just as committed to presenting New York City in its totality.

Season 1 Review: Who Plays Nora In Russian Doll?

To play Nadia’s mother, Chloe Sevigny returns to Russian Doll as Nora. Nora suffers from paranoid schizophrenia, which creates friction between her and the rest of her family – including Nadia, who must come to terms with Nora’s death during Season 1.

Nora (or should we say Nora’s body?) takes on a new role this season. Sevigny made her feature film debut in 1995 with Kids and has continued to work steadily since. She is most known for her roles in Boys Don’t Cry, for which she got an Oscar award, and in Big Love, for which she won a Golden Globe, and she most recently acted in HBO’s We Are Who We Are.
